Ninth Annual Junior Collegiate Team Championship

The Fifth Chair Foundation, in conjunction with the ACBL, and OKBridge (www.okbridge.com) is proud to announce that the ninth annual Junior Collegiate Team Championship is to be held on the weekend of April 23-24, 2005.  This annual event pits college and university bridge teams from around the world in online competition and is the premier online bridge event of its class.
 
The annual championship is sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (www.acbl.org) and masterpoints are awarded for the event.  OKbridge, the Internet's oldest and largest online bridge club, provides free, temporary player accounts for all team members.  Fifth Chair, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering online bridge education, provides help to players as they become familiar with the OKbridge program, if needed. There is no registration or participation fee for this event.

Please include all of the following information with your registration and refer to the conditions of contest below, before registering the following information.
 
  1.. Name and location of the participating college or university your team represents.
  
  2.. Name, email address, age and college/university affiliation of each (4-6) team member (if any are Okbridge members, please include screen names).
  
  3.. Name, email address, age and college/university affiliation of team captain (if Okbridge member, please include screen name).

Conditions of Contest
Ninth Annual Junior Collegiate Team Championships

The CoC for this year's contest has changed very little from that of last year.  All registrants for the tournament should be familiar with the rules before registration and reference them during play if necessary.
 
Dates and Times
 
The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, 2005 on OKBridge. On Saturday there will be an IMP Pairs tournament at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (12 noon Central Time; 1 pm Eastern Time) to determine the four teams that will compete in head-to-head KO matches to be held on Sunday at 10:00 AM PST or a time to be arranged between the advancing captains.
 
Sponsoring Organizations
 
Sponsored by Okbridge and The Fifth Chair Foundation, this event is sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League and will award ACBL masterpoints. The Laws of Duplicate Bridge, ACBL version, and ACBL Tournament Rules and Regulations will apply to all phases of this contest.
 
All players will be expected to conduct themselves in an ethical and orderly manner according to the Laws of Duplicate Bridge.
 
Eligibility
 
The event is open to all Juniors (under 26) who are currently enrolled in a college or university. A team must consist of four, five or six players, with at least two of its members attending the same school. All team members must agree to play under the name of one college or university.
 
Participants will be supplied with a complimentary, temporary OKBridge membership up to two weeks prior to the event. Participants will be expected to familiarize themselves with the features of the software before the event begins.
