European Teams Championships First of all we will organise the 47th European Teams Championships. We are hoping to attract 100 teams in total: 40 in the Open and 30 in the Women`s and Senior`s series. Click Here for the Official Site of the European Team Championships - bulletins, news, etc. ::> National Championships Secondly we will organise the Swedish Championship Week in the same place at the same time. These competitions are not open - because you have to qualify in clubs, districts and regionals in order to compete in the nationals. There will be nationals in the following classes: Mixed, Women`s, Senior`s and Open Pairs. Chairman`s Cup Thirdly we will organise as usual the Chairman`s Cup, a major team competition with great Prize Money. This tournament is open for all and is played over six days. Usually many foreign teams participate. We are, of course, looking forward to a record attendance this year! New Guinness record? Fourthly we will try to get into the Guinness Book of Records by organising the biggest national battle in bridge between two countries, Sweden and Denmark. This competition will be open to all those with a federation membership card from either of the two countries. It will be a scrambled Mitchell with Sweden N-S and Denmark E-W and of course there will be only one winner and one loser. But all the members of the winning country will receive one gold master point! 31 shorter competitions Last but not least, we will bring many successful events from Skovde, where we have organised the festival for the last nine years. We will bring all the shorter competitions, the ones that are normally played in a single day or just an afternoon or an evening. In total we will organise 25 competitions for silver points and 6 for gold and all of them are open to everyone to play. And of course you can win a lot of cash prizes in these tournaments. More than 5000 guests We are expecting on having about 2000 international guests and about 3000 Swedish and Danish guests daily in Malmo. Normally the Swedish Tournament Week attracts about 2000 players, so we are not exaggerating the figures. We are ready to recieve your bookings. Special agreements have been made with 23 hotels to set the prices as cheap as possible, you may make your reservation here. The hotels are divided into four categories:High class, First class, Standard class and Budget class. It`s also worth noting that what is considered a three-star hotel in southern Europe is considered a budget hotel in Sweden, so you will get a lot for your money. The prices is different from hotel to hotel. More information about what class and what hotel we are talking about here. Will we have the necessary space for all this? Ohhh yes! We have a lobby of 2,000 square metres, as much playing space as we will need (12.000 square metres), a Vu-Graph for 1,500 people, 5,000 car places right outside the venue which is the magnificent MalmoMassan. The venue is a new hi-tech convention centre in Malmo. So we will fit perfectly here. And we will need all this space since we are going to organise the biggest Bridge Championship and Festival ever. scores from the events: The Rama theater in Malmo with world-wide viewing: EBL and the Bridgefestival 2004 is using SWAN Games Internet Bridge Club to bring the main matches of the Rama theater to the home computer. SWAN is connected to the on-site scoring program and will be showing running results for the entire field throughout the event. As scores are entered at the tournament you will see them instantly on SWAN's website.

Every round will be covered live on the Internet, free of charge by Swan Games (www.swangames.com), E-bridge (www.e-bridgemaster.com) and Bridge Base Online (www.bridgebase.com), the last with two games to choose from. Italy will also transmit on game per round to the Italian federation. You will find the links to these websites and schedules on the Malmo website.
