ICELANDAIR OPEN BRIDGE FESTIVAL 2003
Why

of the Northern Lights relaxing and playing with bridge
with some friends. Iceland has a warm invitation for you...
The 22nd Icelandair Open tournament will be held in Reykjavík,
Iceland on February 14th – 17th 2003. The tournament´s
program includes pair and team competitions. Icelandair
Open will start Friday evening Feb 14th with the pairs
tournament (132 pairs Monrad Barometer) held over the
first two days. The teams tournament will occupy the final
two days. Ten rounds of ten deals, according to the Monrad
system.
Icelandair Open is a major event in Icelandic bridge life,
typically attended by all of Iceland´s best bridge
players, well covered by the local media and is drawing
a lot of audiences, we encourage and welcome worldwide
bridge players.
The tournament is held in the first class Icelandair Hotel
Loftleidir which is situated near beach and a short distance
from down town, all rooms reserved are “Poet rooms”
to ensure complete luxury, each room is tasteful decortated
with every amenity. Icelandic buffet breakfast served
each morning. Double, twin and single rooms available.
Hotel has an indoor swimming pool and sauna.
A special package for the tournament is available including
round trip dinner and movie flight from Baltimore, or
Boston, on Wed 12 Feb and returning Tues 18 Feb, five
nights at Hotel Loftleidir, incl. Breakfast, transfers
to and from hotel, and participation fee for $795 per
person based on double room occupancy, airport taxes are
additional at approx $85. The same offer is available
from Orlando for $99 surcharge. From Minnapolis the return
is one day later on Wednesday 19 Feb and the cost is $895
plus airport tax. EVERY 10th person goes FREE – airport
taxes only to pay based on double room occupancy –
single room surcharge is $39 per night.
Extensive exciting day excursions are also available directly
from the hotel.
