FREE ACCOMMODATION AROUND THE WORLD?
from Great Bridge Links News
One thing about bridge players - sooner or later
in their bridge playing lives they will need to travel. Here's
a neat new service most bridge players will find very interesting.
It's a web site/database that tracks people of like mind and interests
willing to put up a guestroom in exchange for credits. You earn
a credit for letting another member use your guestroom and you
use the credit to stay in someone else's guestroom. Imagine. You
are planning to attend a regional in Montreal so you call on the
database which lists all the bridge players in Montreal with guestrooms
and voila! You find a place to stay - and here's the kicker -
for $4 per night! OK that's USD but still - what a deal.
Now, you don't get food, or entertainment, or
taxi service. But you do get a bed and in a space equivalent (there's
a rating system) to the one you left at home and with people that
play bridge - or golf , or eat kosher or whatever your interest/needs
are at the time - it's up to you.

Guestroom Network is a network of people who host
each other in their guestrooms at no charge as they travel locally
or abroad.
A great idea for our bridge community.

Click on any FREE ROOMS button (or the Guestroom Network graphic
above) and read more about this unique new service.
AND REMEMBER:
In order for other bridge players to find you, be sure to type
BRIDGE in the "Special Interests" spot.
TOURNAMENT TEST
We are going to promote this network like crazy for the Vancouver
BC Regional in January 2002. If you live in the Vancouver - Richmond
area, and are interested in putting up your 'guestroom' for visiting
bridge players, go to the Guestroom Network and sign up!
PS - The Guestroom Network has a very serious Privacy Policy
- your email addresses and privacy will be treated with utmost
respect.

Dear
Jude - your tidbit announcement about the "guestroom'network is
of great interest. 20 years ago my wife and I lived in Williamsburg
Virginia and belonged to a similar "sharing" club, not bridge
related, and before the internet was even a glimmer. We swapped
our home with couples in Atlanta, Washington DC and Toronto so
we could go to the regionals and the 1978 Toronto National, with
no hotel costs. That was a little more difficult, since we had
to find someone who wanted to come to virginia at the exact same
time we wanted to be in their city. This new concept is even better.
Now you can find a place to stay while the hosts are there, and
all you need to do is provide your own residence later for someone
else. Terrific! Please let me know who is doing this. I am VERY
interested.

G'day
Jude, If you have an email address so that I can put my Sydney
home on these people's list, please reply!
